Chicken & waffles! I know! I’m as surprised as you are but they turned out really great. And better yet, everyone loved them. I handed some out at work, some to my friends, and a few throughout the neighborhood and it was a bit overwhelming the amount of positive responses I got over it. So just to remind you, it was a waffle cupcake with maple frosting and fried chicken skin crumbles on the top.Thats not to say all of the other cupcakes were terrible. The cherry cordials turned out well with their rich cherry center in a chocolate chocolate cupcake.
The S’mores cupcake I think may need a little more fine tuning before they are perfected but I don’t think I’ll mind trying these out a few more times with their chocolate cupcake, marshmallow frosting, and graham cracker crumble.
And while I was in the kitchen experimenting, I thought I may as well try out something else. I was in the mood to create, to make tasty things. I stopped by BevMo and perused the beer aisles when I stumbled across a double stout chocolate ale. With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I thought why not try out something different this year instead of the standard Guinness Stout Cake. It’s a stout beer chocolate cupcake with a chocolate mousse buttercream.
I also bought another chocolate stout beer that I will be trying to incorporate in another chocolate stout cupcake also with some sort of chocolate frosting, so check back for the report on how my other experiments are going. I have a feeling that this weekend will be much like the last, a bunch of new stuff rolling out of the kitchen.
