It’s been a tough year here at Cinful Delights headquarters. I start to blog then stop and start and stop and you know how that goes, 6 months go by and I haven’t even logged on. I am now going to use this as a tool to help me get back on track, get my head back in the game as they say, whomever “they” are.
Moving away from everyone has been one of the toughest things I have had to do. I felt as though my heart and I were literally broken. I will have to start from scratch in a town where I know no one, where I don’t know the area and where I don’t know what markets have the best fruits and vegetables. I need to find wholesale vendors in? I don’t know maybe Sacramento or would it be Roseville. But with all that said, things could always be so so much worse. I still have my health, my children and grandchildren and all my extended family whom I love with my entire heart and soul. So keep it movin!
SOOO…in retrospect, moving is not as bad as it could be and now its time to start starting over. Time to put on the big girl pants. Time to research new city and county laws. Time to look for commercial kitchens. Time to look for bottling options and labels for my jams, jellies and jerk sauce. I just recently went back to working on my jelly and jam recipes again. I am trying hotter peppers and fruits not normally found in jellies.
(Watermelon Raspberry Reaper jelly over cream cheese)
The newest (and new crowd favorite) jelly is the watermelon raspberry with Carolina Reaper peppers. The flavors are perfect. The only problem is that it will need to be a seasonal item because of the watermelon. Finding a tasty watermelon during Winter could be a challenge. The apricot Ghost Pepper is about as close to perfection that you can get. And the jerk sauce is spiced up and ready to go. Now time to look into getting these things on shelves and into the local farmer’s market.
Good to be back and get ready for some food and dessert deliciousness. #cinfuldelights
Remember: Jelly and Jerk make great Christmas gifts!
